Christopher Weil
In April of 2025, after sixty-two years in the securities business and fifty-five years operating his own firm, Chris Weil retired from his role as Financial Advisor and Chairman of the Board of Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. Chris currently holds the title Chairman Emeritus, the first in the history of the firm and its predecessor.

Chris entered the securities business in 1963 and formed his own investment firm in 1970. For fifteen years he owned and operated the original WEIL and a related real estate investment company until their sale in 1985 to an affiliate of a New York Stock Exchange-listed company. In 1990, after spending three years with the buyer of the company, he formed The Weil Company (which has used Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. as its dba since 1996) to provide portfolio management, investment advisory and private equity services. He was previously President & CEO of Christopher Weil & Company, Inc. and Chairman of the Board.
Chris is a graduate of University of California, Los Angeles and Director of the Patricia & Christopher Weil Family Foundation. He serves on the Audit Committee of the Jacobs Family Foundation/Jacobs Center for Community Innovation. Previously, he served as a Trustee of the UCSD Foundation Board (2001 to 2017), as Treasurer, and on its Investment/Finance and Executive Committees. He is a member of the Preuss School UCSD's Founders' Circle, UCSD ArtPower PowerPlayers and the UCSD's Arts and Humanities Dean's Advisory Council. For many (many) years, Chris served on the Board of Mainly Mozart. He is the Co-Chair of the campaign to endow the Cecil Lytle Chair in African and African-American Music. Chris has been active on a number of for-profit boards for many years as well. In 2021, Chris and his wife, Patricia, were presented the Chancellor’s Medal, one of UC San Diego’s highest honors for leaders whose longstanding contributions and involvement have supported students, advanced meaningful research, and transformed the university.
Chris and Pat live in Del Mar, California. They have three adult children (all of whom, and one son-in-law, have either worked for or currently work for Christopher Weil & Company, Inc.) and five grandchildren.
